Great quote from Kanzig, proving the importance of having "experienced" guys on the TEAM during this rebuild. I'm totally expecting all 3 junior guys (Kanzig, Monohan, Sieloff) still in camp to get a look for the first road trip of the regular season.

And, thanks for ditching that avatar you were sporting at the end of last week Colin.

Derek Smith is useless

Why is he playing in this game and not Seiloff? From what I have heard I expected to see Seiloff in the line up but I guess not. I'd rather see Wotherspoon in there too.

Hopefully Smith gets sent down, I can't stand him.

Last chance for a few guys like Smith to make an impact...whereas Sieloff has already made one. He will play next game and into the reg season if he continues to play well.

My guess is the whole jaw thing and the fact Smith IS playing is probably an indication the coaching staff wants to see if he is capable of playing better??

THAT good, no...good, yes.

Hes playing reliable hockey so far, not doing anything to really stand out, but has been consistent. Hes going to be hard to cut, imo.

Oilers just claimed MacIntyre. I bet he'll teach that kid few tricks when they fight.

It would have been better if they had of asked Semenko to come out of retirement...

Kanzig should be sent back to Jr's once pre-season ends. He still has a lot of work to do. I would send Sieloff back to Jr's also. D men take a long time to develop. The flames should not be rushing these two guys just because they might be as good as Smith, Butler or Russell. That is not a tall order and on any other team they probably would have been sent back already.

Geez...apparently the Flames and Rangers need to have a line brawl of their own to get comments in here!

Brawl: It won't happen because Mgratton is in; they won't want to mess with him.

I read on a thread last week that Feaster was on the radio saying that everyone left in camp would either be on the team, or be amoung the first call-ups. That is why I think Monohan, Sieloff and Kanzig will at least see a game or two before being sent back; they can't be called up once they are dropped. But who knows . . . other than Hartley.

I'm guessing jtommy banned that idiot Kings fan. No comments about us being contenders now or something like that.

Hartley's comments today were interesting. Talking about the battles for spots and how it might impact other players in the roster, he spoke specifically about Reinhart and Galliardi. They're playing Max on the wing tonight to find out if he's versatile enough to play both there and Center, and apparently Galliardi has been told that his role on the team is completely dependant on which young guys win the roster spots. If the Centers outplay the wingers then T.J. will be a winger, but if it goes the other way then he's going to be played as a Center.

Was Galliardi ever really in doubt?
